Have you ever thought about what is at the bottom edge of the Waiponamu? The South island? I hadn’t either until I went there. There is farmland, a couple of people and sandy and pebbly beaches. I loved the toning and contrast on this beach – I think it was Gem beach. We didn’t find any gems and these rocks were stunning in the late afternoon light.
