I never knew New Zealand had native DraongFlies until I went mountain biking near Hokitika. I was lucky enough on tht journey have have an enormous one land on my helmet! It was al least 15cm in body length! This one at Christchurch Botanic gardens wasn’t as big and a lot harder to find. I don’t know if it is a native one but I love the wing shape and transparency, and that it stayed still long enough for me to take a photo.
