I was at Brown’s Bay and testing out my macro lens for the first time. I was looking hard at the sand, trying to find something small to photograph and I spotted this blue shell. It was all of 3mm in size. I blinked and I lost it. I found it. I raised my camera to my eye, ans I lost it. I located it again, adjusted the settings, blinked and lost it. I relocated it through the lens, paused, stopped breathing and pushed the shutter button. Depth of field, small and sharp – sun just perfect on one side, and the ribs in shadow.
