Easter 2024 – a last minute booking for a batch wherever we could find. It happened to be Campbells Beach near Matakana. It’s not a beach to swim at at low tide, nor to collect the prettiest of shells. It has lots of interest in the pebbles in the sand, the moored boats, a vast inlet and a westwards view towards the setting sun. Ad a glass ball and I got a little sun-flare and some cool shadowy contrast for my efforts.
