Hihi is a sweeping curve with only water in front of it. Dues west – the sun goes down nightly, but the magic start when the colour bursts for a second time! This is what makes the Northland sunsets remarkably special!
I captured this image close to the mid tide line when the first sunset had nearly finished. I think 10 seconds later the sun was gone.
