There is a worm, a very famous worm who eats holes in the Kawakawa leaves. It never eats the whole leaf, and this is when  Maori know the leaves are safe to use for medicine.

What attracted me to this leaf was the green heart shape a symbol of loving the environment, the holes the destruction caused by climate change.
