There is a worm, a very famous worm who eats holes in the Kawakawa leaves. It never eats the whole leaf, and the Maori know the leaves are of best use once they are eaten.

However, I think this one leaf tells a story. A story of love for the environment. Of how there are patches or good and people doing the right thing. But full of holes – of lies, denial, of an uncaring attitude, lack of responsibility  – reflecting how the environment is on the verge of disappearing and destroying us all!
