The New Zealand bush is more detailed than you think. We often walk through and only noticing the big trees or the leaves on the ground. For this shot I looked a little closer. I saw the detailed small lines of a Punga long – with it’s black and brown shadings. I saw how there was layers: the sky, the green foliage and the light brown of the mid-range of decaying shrubs and live shrubs.
But I needed to focus and pull all these parts into one shpere to really see what was going on in Opanuku Bush near Henderson.
