Growing up, some of my school holidays were spent at Torbay. My Nana would take us for a walk to Long Bay and we would explore the beach and find giant Scallop shells. They were always whole, have both he rounded side and the flat side and be easily 12cm across. Alas, over the years too many have been taken and pollution has destroyed many a habitat. So finding this one, it was small about 8cm across, and being able to take my macro photo to it; remembering my time on the beach with Nana, was so very very special. 💖
